"Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord." Psalm 150:1 - 6
The 17th February, 2013 will go down in the annals of the 210 members of the Monrovia Church of Christ, Liberia as a glorious and unforgettable day of the Lord. The church celebrated its 15th Anniversary and dedicated the new ultra modern Worship Center.
On this day, they saw well over 1,000 adults gather to worship God in their new ultra modem worship center in Monrovia!
The theme of the 3-day conference prelude to the dedication service was ‘Thus Far has the Lord Helped us’ from 1 Samuel 7:12. Classes were organized for the Singles, Marrieds and Teenagers in the Church to stimulate, encourage and inspire them to keep the faith and to remember the great work God has done in their lives. An Outreach to the Poor was carried out, as gifts were given to a Mental Home in Monrovia. Following the Outreach was a street parade where disciples reached out and invited as many as possible to the dedication service. Over 100 disciples sang and danced on the streets of Monrovia as they handed out leaflets inviting passerby’s to join in their joy and celebration. God richly blessed their efforts and hard work as over 1,000 were in attendance for the wonderful service.
In attendance at this special August occasion were the leaders from our churches in Ivory Coast, Ghana and Nigeria. God moved the hearts of men in the auditorium as our brother Paul Okolo, who led the missions team to plant the Monrovia church 15 years ago, preached a powerful sermon reminding us of the need to always be grateful to God.
It was an amazing experience for all who came and we pray that God will strengthen the Monrovia church and its leadership. After the service many people stayed behind to study the bible and our prayer is that God plants and grows solid convictions in the Monrovia church. Keep praying for the work in Liberia!
