When Hurricane Irma passed through the Caribbean in early September as potentially the most dangerous hurricane in recent history, it hit some of our smallest islands head-on, causing severe damage.

"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." – Matthew 9:37-38
You’ve been sitting in church every Sunday (in pretty much the same seat), surrounded by hundreds of fellow disciples. You sing out passionately, you serve sacrificially, you share your faith diligently, you encourage the weak faithfully, you give your offering generously. And yet you feel the tug on your heart, the nudge of the Spirit to step further out on faith into a new adventure. Brothers and sisters, if this is you, please read on.
God has been using the disciples in Oregon in some powerful ways these past few years. With the official launch of the University Church of Eugene in 2015, God has grown their fellowship from 14 disciples to over 75. He also has thrown opened the doors for them to plant churches in Corvallis (Willamette Valley Christian Church) and in Bend (Bend House Church) Oregon. However, not only are the Eugene disciples winning souls for Christ in Oregon, God is also using them as “Good Samaritans” (Luke 10:25-37) to impact the lives of those living on the thousands of remote islands of the South Pacific through a non-profit charity called Sea Mercy.

Our primary purpose in writing is to make an appeal to those of you with connections to Poland, encouraging you to get in contact with us to see how you might be able to help in our plans to bring the good news to this great nation.

Fiji, Vanuatu, Tahiti, Palau, Tonga, Samoa…Just hearing the names of those islands conjures up travel brochure images of a warm tropical sun setting in the distance over blue turquoise waters, palm trees, secluded white sandy beaches, and air-conditioned hotels, calling to your inner most desires. As real and appealing as those images may be, there is another calling in the South Pacific that few hear or know about. It's an urgent call for help.
Who has heard of fifteen disciples from eight states starting a church together without ever meeting one another before? Until this year, we hadn't either! You may know Eugene, OR as home of Nike, Track Town, Duck football, or "old hippies don't die, they move to Eugene." But now, due to the hand of God through the amazing vehicle of Disciples Today and the One Year Challenge, he started the University Church of Eugene in just that way!
