The Poenix worship team shares about a recent workshop they had put on by Brian Craig, and how it has impacted their ministry.

Earlier this year, one disciple from the Phoenix church attended the Worship conference in Chicago. More had attended this conference in the past, but this year finances were tight and not as many could go. We still had the desire to both encourage and inspire all of our worship leaders, so we decided to ask Brian Craig from the Los Angeles church to come and lead a worship workshop for us right here in Phoenix. The advantages we saw were that Brian could customize a presentation to meet our needs in a more personal way and he could focus all his attention on helping us for an entire weekend.

Brian’s workshop met and surpassed our expectations. Having Brian in Phoenix for the weekend served multiple purposes beyond calling our worship and praise higher. He challenged our thinking and helped us think outside the box. He gave us creative ideas and resources. Perhaps the greatest benefit was that far more worship leaders (and future worship leaders) were able to attend than could ever attend an out of town conference.

On Friday night, our staff and elders got together for a meal and some time to get to know Brian. Brian shared with us some of the things that he has been learning in Los Angeles, including their successes and failures. The next morning was the workshop for the worship leaders and he spent the afternoon working with our band preparing for a congregational service the next morning. The Sunday worship was a soul-moving, reverent, devotional-style service. Brian shared a powerful message about harmony – what it means to be in harmony with God and with each other. It was a very impacting weekend for our church.

I would encourage anyone wanting to work on these areas to engage Brian for a weekend. It was a great investment in and for our church.
