Dallas, Texas was the site of the historic first ever International Singles Conference for the International Churches of Christ. 2,500 singles from over 50 countries descended on the incredible Gaylord Texan Convention Center and Hotel last weekend. The closing message summed up the determination and excitement of the crowd: "Obey Your Vision"

The preacher for the Sunday Service was AKK, evangelist for our church in Myanmar (Burma) which is an underground church in a country ruled by a totalitarian regime. He is a single brother who has led the church for several years now.

Myanmar is a country of 60 million people who average about $40 per month income. Of the 71 disciples in the ICOC church there, 39 are single. On May 2, 2008 Myanmar was struck by a serious cyclone that devastated much of the country. With no public communication or transportation available, all of the disciples found each other and met for worship the following Sunday including a blind brother who lost the roof of his home. One brother walked 10 miles to church. They have now helped to repair each other's homes and a total of 68 houses in the community. And they collected $1300 to help others.
