We Sow Seeds - God Gives Fruits The Mysore church is a small satellite church of around 11 disciples which is 150 Kms from Bangalore. It is encouraging to see how God could use a disciple from the Mysore church to reach out to Felix in Bangalore. Felix was saved in the last week of June. A brother, Nirmal, from Mysore works for Apollo Hospitals, Mysore. One guy, Francis, used to come to Apollo to fix the dialysis machines. Nirmal talked to Francis about attending the church in Bangalore because he resides in Bangalore.
Now Felix is being a good disciple and bringing his friends. The brothers are studying the Bible with his friends and his friend, Mathi, is willing to become a disciple. A couple of Mathi's friends are also coming and God is working amazingly as a chain. This news was encouraging to the Mysore church, which has not been seeing any baptisms. One of its members has become fruitful. Campus News: A Chain Reaction
We had a singles retreat in the month of March this year. About 160 brothers & sisters from all over the Karnataka region attended the singles retreat. Soumya got inspired at the retreat to reach out to many more people. She invited Rovina, an engineering student, on the way back home in the bus right after the singles retreat. Rovina started visiting the church and she got baptised in June 2008 (pictured below, right).
When baptisms happen, disciples need to spread out and should continuously preach the word of God. That's what happened. We have started a new sisters family group being led by Sheetal; Soumya & Rovina are part of the same family group. They have started this group with an objective to reach out to many more students & single girls in the city of Bangalore. Editor's Note: The East Region of the Bangalore Church has started a blog for its members. It is filled with encouraging news. To read it, go here: http://blreastregion.blogspot.com/. |
