1,500 students from over 150 campus ministries in the US, Moscow, Brazil and other countries are at the International Campus Ministry Conference in Louisiana, USA. They spent the July 4th holiday in 90 degree weather serving the residents of the hurricane ravaged Lower 9th Ward in New Orleans.

Mike and Anne Briggite Taliaferro share about the kickoff of the ICMC.

Several sources including government officials have referred to the ICMC service event as volunteers for HOPEww as the largest single student serice event since Hurricane Katrina and probably ever in New Orleans history.

Students from the International Churches of Christ cleared lots, spread dirt, planted seed, swept streets and went door to door offering to do chores for the residents of the Lower 9th Ward.

The ministers got into the spirit as they rapidly built and planted a Memorial Garden to honor the victims of Hurricane Katrina in the Lower 9th Ward.

Saturday's ICMC program is filled with classes and an evening event at the Maravich Center on the LSU campus. We should be proud, inspired and encouraged by this generations joy at serving and heart for God and his church.
