Frontline World and the Chicago Tribune report on the rise and spread of Christianity in China. With over 1 billion people hungering for God, we all need to pray for the grace and truth that will bring multitudes of new disciples to Jesus.

Almost one year ago, I was honored to lead a presentation to a delegation of the Beijing Municipal Government who had asked if they could meet with the Chicago Church of Christ to learn more about how our faith affected our service to our society. (click here for the original story.) It was truly one of those moments when you knew you were a part of history in the making.

Yesterday the front page of the Chicago Tribune featured an extra large article that continued to cover two more entire pages with the huge leading headline, "Jesus in China." Click here for the Tribune stories.

Tuesday night, June 24, 2008 at 9 pm on the American PBS channel, the award-winning Frontline series presents a gripping program on the spread of Christianity in this amazing country, Click here for information about the PBS Frontline program.

Western Christians are receiving numerous signs of warning that the future centers of Christianity will probably be in Asia and Africa. Faith is all but dead in Europe and America continues to slide in its moral and spiritual decay. The gospel and a man or woman of faith can change all that in our societies where familiarity for Jesus has too often become contempt.

We are so thankful for the vision and faith of the Hong Kong Church, Scott and Lynne Green and many others who have been planting seeds of faith and growing strong churches in China for the last 20 years. All of our churches in China have been led by Chinese disciples for some time now. The church plantings continue to plant more churches and some are meeting in public. Let's learn and be challenged by our brothers and sisters who are slowly finding new doors open for the Lord. The gospel is still the power of God to salvation. It just needs us as the power lines.
