"At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised,”Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heaven.”The words”once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken-that is, created things-so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a comsuming fire.”" Hebrews12:26-29
On 12th of May, 2008, we have experienced a severe earthquke (of 7.8 scale) in SiChuan province of Southwest China. It was a soul-stirring moment for all who live around the area. We were in terrible shock and many people didn’t even have time to say goodbye to the loved ones. It all happened in just one minute and took away many people’s lives. Now the China government is trying so hard to rescue the people in disaster areas.
We are the church from Chengdu, Sichuan. We want to let you know that all of us here are safe and sound. The aftershock may remain but our love for God and love for each other will forever remain in everyone’s heart. We are forever grateful to be able to live by the grace of God. We know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to us will turn out for our deliverance. It is a time to think: What can we contribute?
Beside having financial donation to the disaster areas, some of us are to donate the blood. Many school buildings collapsed during the quake and most of students were buried underneath. The church is planning and praying about helping out to rebuild the school and helping out the weak. We continue to ask of your prayers for us to boldly speak God’s word and demostrate God’s love for the people here.
Love from “People of Mountain”
