Position Description: Residential AmeriCorps Summer Site Supervisor
(Stipend- $5000 for summer season)
This is a unique part time residential supervisor position. Candidate will confidently supervise and provide a visible, professional presence to 100 HOPE Youth Corps (HYC) and AmeriCorps (AC) Members from June 9, 2008 to August 15, 2008.
The part-time Residential AmeriCorps Summer Site Supervisor will ensure adherence to all AmeriCorps grant requirements concerning time sheets and service activities as well as complete all reasonable tasks assigned at the direction of the National Field Supervisor (Marc Calica). These tasks will be undertaken on an independent basis although some will be undertaken in coordination with the National Field Supervisor, the HOPE Youth Corps Director (Kim Evans) and the camp administrative team. These tasks include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Provide a safe, supportive and encouraging environment for all HYC/AC members;
- Conduct all supervisory, organizational and other meetings with HYC/AC members;
- Provide a visible and accessible, professional presence during camp hours for all HYC/AC members;
- Collect and organize all the timesheets of HYC/AC members in a timely manner;
- Collect and organize all program performance data measures in an efficient and timely manner;
- Conduct performance evaluations for all HYC/AC members;
- Collect, organize and ensure that all exit documents are in order and turned in to the National Field Supervisor;
- Must be flexible and ready to respond to the needs, issues and concerns of the HYC/AC members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to spend summer in a camp environment and working some evenings and weekends
- Outstanding leadership and communication skills
- Previous supervisory experience a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Self-starter with ability to work both independently and on collaborative teams
- Solid computer skills including expertise in Word and Excel
- Previous AmeriCorps or HOPE Youth Corps Intern experience a plus
