2008 CAMPUS CONFERENCE: Baton Rouge, Louisiana. "Rebuild the City" PDF Print Email
Monday, 04 February 2008

Calling all campus students, as well as High School juniors and seniors, to come to Baton Rouge, Louisiana this summer and help to "Rebuild the City." This will be a conference like nothing we have done in the past!

Hurricane Katrina put 80% of New Orleans under water. When the levee broke in the Lower Ninth Ward, some streets were flooded 15 feet deep in less than 60 seconds.

You can help these folks to rebuild their lives and their neighborhoods this summer, as the 2008 Campus Conference comes to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We are all donating our July 4th to work a day with HOPEworldwide, along with ACORN and Habitat for Humanity. No construction experience needed. Just a heart to help the needy.

Here's the details...

  • Thursday, July 3: Travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
  • Program begins Thursday night. We will be meeting in the Maravich Arena on the LSU campus.
  • Friday, July 4: we will bus over to New Orleans (about an hour) to the Lower Ninth Ward to help ACORN and Habitat for Humanity for the day. No Construction experience necessary. Just a heart to help the needy. Fireworks along the Mississippi River optional that night.
