Please help us update info from your church. Check the list of churches we still need to hear from.

Disciples Today announced the 2008 Survey of our churches on January 14. So far we are seeing the best early response we've had to the annual church survey.

In just over one week, 173 churches have updated their contact information and provided end-2007 membership. We'll regularly update this list of churches which have completed the survey, and those from which we are still hoping to hear. This is the only complete contact directory of churches in our fellowship. We are grateful for our partnership with Kelcy Hahn of MissionMemo.org in this effort.

It's too early to draw even preliminary conclusions from the data, but the swift response of so many churches is encouraging all by itself.

As best we can count them, there are 586 or so churches to survey, so we're almost 30% done and we're still in January. Good.

We've become acquainted over the years with so many people through this survey. The personal comments some leave for us are always welcome. We hurt with the struggling churches, and rejoice for victories large and small.

Here's a sample of the messages we received this year from survey respondents:

Our church is rebuilding and we do not have a full time minister. We still have faithful disciples, but did not add anyone new to our number last year. However we had a recommittment from some of our former disciples.

23 baptisms and 3 restorations this year was an inprovement over 2006 but we lost too many members to move outs and other withdrawals. We hope, plan and pray for 10% growth this year.

Many of us seek a full-time ministry couple to lead us! We have no evangelist, or even a deacon anymore! I truly believe that someone with the vision to lead us into a fresh, new direction will glory God and help us to achieve explosive growth!
