The Phoenix Valley Church of Christ (PVCC) is currently accepting applications for the role of Campus Ministry couple. About the Phoenix Church
The PVCC numbers approximately 550 members and is broken down into three regions that are spread out across the valley. Our full-time staff is presently comprised of three region leader couples, a teen ministry couple, and a full-time administrator. Our ministry staff serves as couples, since we desire a strong women’s ministry. All applications will be
reviewed and interviews conducted by our Leadership Team.
About the Position
We are looking for a couple to lead a very strong campus ministry opportunity. The Tempe campus of Arizona State University (ASU) has a student enrollment of almost 52,000 students, making it one of the largest
universities in the country. The official mascot is the sun devil, so you will always remember whom you’re fighting against. While ASU is the primary campus in Phoenix, there are disciples at a few other campuses, including Mesa Community College, the largest community college in the country with an enrollment of nearly 24,000. A campus ministry of about 40 students has been established over the last few years (including four student interns) so there is a strong base of disciples to work with. The primary responsibilities for this position include: 1) leading the evangelistic charge for the campus; 2) working as a team with other leaders for the training, shepherding and maturing of disciples; and 3) organizing the ministry and its activities in such a way as to support spiritual health. Being a team player is a must. Previous campus ministry leadership experience strongly desired. Along with the rest of the staff, the new campus ministry couple will receive ongoing, in-depth Bible and shepherding training.
About the City
Phoenix is one of the fastest growing large cities in America and now boasts a population of over five million, including a large Hispanic contingent. It has strikingly picturesque features and beautiful weather for most of the year with very little rain, no snow, but plenty of sunshine (it is a desert, after all). The cost of living is less than many major US cities, but Phoenix offers a wide variety of cultural amenities. It is popularly known as the Valley of the Sun, and we intend to help it become the Valley of the Son!
