This semester God has shown his power and sovereignty in our ministry as he has added 8 new souls with many more desiring to be saved.

"My mouth will tell of your righteousness, of your salvation all day long, though I know not its measure. I will come and proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign Lord; I will proclaim your righteousness, yours alone."
(Psalm 71:15-16)

Acts 2:42-47 speaks of the early church and what they were devoted to and how in the midst of their fellowship they saw many miracles and were in awe of God. We are seeing this scripture lived out in our campus ministry. Brothers and sisters are devoting themselves to the Apostles teachings, breaking of bread, fellowship, and to prayer and the Lord is adding to our number those that are being saved.

Like the Psalmist says in Psalm 71 we cannot help to speak about the salvation of our God all day long. With a little more than a month out there are still many that desire to be saved and by faith will come into our family this semester. God has moved through this speaking and we have seen God's amazing plans unfolding before our eyes as we have seen 8 new brothers and sisters added to our number thus far in this fall semester. Here are their stories:

Stefan Wernli is a 4th year student at Harvard University and is currently pursuing a Masters in computer science at Harvard. This last summer Stefan had just finished his undergraduate degree in three years! Even though this is quite an accomplishment Stefan did not seem content in his heart. He later said that he was thinking to himself, "there has to be more to life than this, "I think I am missing something!" He later prayed for something to fill the void he felt. That next day he was met in the Harvard Yard by some disciples and visited a special invitational service entitled "Chosen". Stefan was indeed chosen by God and soon began studying the Bible. A month later on September 23rd he was baptized and is now one of the most joyful, encouraging, giving brothers in our fellowship. To God be the Glory!

Three months ago, there weren't any Christians from our campus ministry at Pine Manor College, a small women's school in Brookline. Today there are three. God has worked powerfully among a group of friends at this school to convert hearts and souls to Him. The story begins with junior Magen Livesy from Randolph, Mass. Though she became a disciple as a teen in the Boston Church of Christ's South Region, Magen's faith took a toll throughout her first two years at college, and she eventually wandered away from the Lord.

This past summer she came to several realizations in her life regarding where she stood before God, and began conversations and Bible studies that helped her see her life more clearly. She entered the school year eager to make serious changes in her life.

One of Magen's strengths is how she expresses her faith to those around her, even through hard times. As she worked to be restored, she brought her roommate Maggie Gibson along the way. A junior from Worcester, Mass, Maggie was also seeking God during the summer. After reading the Bible on her own for a few months, she immediately accepted the opportunity to read it with other women in the school year. She quickly soaked up the Word of God and was soon ready to become a disciple of Jesus. At the beginning of a powerful campus devotional on September 28, Magen was restored to the Lord and to our body, and at the end of service she helped baptize Maggie.
Shane Siwinski was a long time friend of Katie Feeley since freshman year. Katie became a Christian in the summer going into her sophomore year she and her boyfriend Danny MacDougall started to reach out to Shane asking him to come to their bible discussion group on campus. Shane studied the bible off and on for the next three years. God had been moving through the love he saw in Danny, Katie and the ministry at Northeastern as this fall semester at a bible discussion group he approached Danny and Kevin and said, "Just like the fisherman in Mark 1, I am ready to drop my nets and follow Jesus!" Two weeks later he was baptized at a campus devotional on September 28th. Shane is a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ who loves his Bible and is a joy in our fellowship.

Katherine Sengoba is currently a sophomore at Harvard University and was just recently baptized on October 28th, 2007. But her story does not begin this semester. Katherine's father is in the church in Los Angeles and has been bringing Katherine to church since she was a preteen. She studied the Bible off and on in the teen ministry in Los Angeles but did not make the decision to become a disciple as a high school student. God moved her when she went to Harvard to contact the church and to get involved in the campus ministry in Boston. She has been coming to events and studying the Bible for the past year and has been struggling between making Jesus Lord and living in this world. Experience sometimes is the best teacher as she saw through the world and it's emptiness as she has decided to no longer live for herself and this world but for the one who died for her. She is a great example of how God is patient and faithful to us as a father. Now Katherine is one of the most joyful sisters in the fellowship as she now feels the joy of her salvation.

Gabriel Montemayor better known as Miko is a freshman at MIT and is from Texas. In High School Miko had gone to a couple of church services but no one ever studied the Bible with him. Coming to MIT Miko decided that he wanted to pursue spirituality and a relationship with God but did not know how to start. The first week of classes God moved and he was met by a disciple in the student center who asked him to come to church. He accepted the invitation and came to the first campus church service of the fall semester. He shortly there after decided to study the Bible with some disciples and he humbly accepted the word planted in his heart. He was baptized on Sunday, October 28th, 2007 and is now one of the most committed disciples in our fellowship. Miko has a gift of understanding the scriptures and he applies it to his everyday life. He is a joy to have in the fellowship and will be used powerfully by God at MIT.

Tabare' Gowon is a sophomore at Harvard University and lives in the same dorm as Katherine Sengoba. Tabare' strove to be spiritual in high school but did not feel like he understood how to practically live it out and keep his spiritual fervor. He used to hang on his wall his favorite scriptures and always was a lover of the Bible. He learned to love the Bible from his mother who used to read the scriptures to him daily. Tabare' entered Harvard University feeling blessed to be getting a great education and had hopes of keeping his spirituality while in college. Tabare' found that it was extremely difficult to avoid the temptations of the world and to be godly on campus. His freshman year of Harvard he lived more sinful than he ever had before. The beginning of this semester his sophomore year he decided to change his way of living and pursue God seriously. He decided to find someone who could help him do this on campus. He remembered seeing Katherine reading the Bible in their cafeteria last year and was impacted by Katherine reading the Bible in public and not being ashamed what others might think.

He approached Katherine and asked her to go to church with her one Sunday. He came and loved church and shortly there after started to study the Bible. He quickly devoured the scriptures and decided to become a disciple and be baptized as soon as possible. Right after he made this decision a number of trials occurred that seem to hinder his urgency to be saved. Tabare's cousin was hit by a car and had to go to the hospital, next week he was hit while traveling as a passenger in a car, and to make matters worse he came down with walking pneumonia. But Tabare' did not let that stop him. He urgently studied the Bible while sick and overwhelmed with all his school work that he had to catch up on.

And the angels rejoiced as on Sunday, November 11th he was baptized and committed his life to following Jesus. He shared as he was studying the Bible that he desires to share his faith with many on campus to show them the scriptures he was shown. God used a woman's search for God to bring another soul to salvation. To God be the Glory!

Let us praise God for what he has done in bringing these 8 souls to him and let us pray for many more by faith that will be saved this semester.
