By Lori Kotkowski, HOPE worldwide Procurement Assistant

“Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked” Psalm 82:3-4

Fifteen volunteers came from churches in Boston, Massachusetts, Groton-New London, Conneticut and San Diego, California in an effort spear-headed, organized and led by Walter Kotkowski, HOPE worldwide Vice President, Procurement to travel to Honduras. Our group was comprised of six medical professionals: two pediatricians; Dr. Doug Stein and Dr. Elliot Suarez, three nurses; Barbara Warnock, Jessica McClellan and Ramon Ramos, and a medical technician, Fredie Orellana.

Alongside them were eight non-medical volunteers who translated, organized, took photos, face-painted children, served food and made sure the medical staff had the resources to treat patients – the reason we traveled to Honduras!
