Equally prominent schools in the area include American International College, Springfield College, Western New England College, Westfield State College, Elms College, Baypath College, and several community colleges besides totaling close to 75,000 students.
This is truly a historic Campus Ministry in the New England Area Churches and Worldwide as large numbers of disciples over the years have planted churches, served on mission teams, led regions, and become instrumental in the building of the Kingdom both locally and abroad. After Greater Bo  ston, Western Massachusetts has the largest concentration of college students in New England. Several of the nation's leading liberal arts colleges are located in the region as is the main campus at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. The ministry couple will be trained by our Evangelist and Women's Ministry leaders, Sajjan and Lisa Sharma and attend the Boston Church of Christ Leadership meetings weekly. Expectations: The Campus couple must posses an internal work ethic and be able to work independently of direct daily oversight. In reviving the campus ministry, they must demonstrate a passionate, unyileding and unceasing desire to share the gospel of Christ and preach the word everywhere they go. Having a heart for the lost and a desire to serve them would be of utmost importance. They must also set an example in Biblical areas of spiritual life in having growing and consistent daily times with God in study and prayer. As a shepherd, the couple must also desire to "walk with" each student on Campus, serving, loving and encouraging them daily. Brief History of Pioneer Valley church of Christ
In the summer of 1981, the Pioneer Valley Church of Christ was planted in Hatfield, Massachusetts. We have since become a local congregation of 135 members owning a building in Chicopee, Massachusetts, and representing the broad multi-cultural, ethnic, educational, and economic background of Western Massachusetts.
