On the campus of LeMoyne College outside Syracuse, New York, a group of about 55 gathered for a Sunday morning worship service on November 11. There was lively singing, with a little bit of guitar accompaniment; heart-felt sharing around communion; plenty of preaching and teaching and an incredible Mexican-themed fellowship meal.
In the past many months Mike Van Auken, Jim Brown, Ken and Judy Ostrowski, Wyndham Shaw, Jimmy and Anita Allen, Onyechi, Fred Faller, Jeff Mannel, Rod Fick, Augusto Russell and others have driven over to speak and be encouraged by this newly-formed congregation. Though they presently have no staff, there is an excellent blend of salty, veteran leadership; vibrant, young couples and several teenagers. There are even two campus disciples - one from Syracuse University and one from Cornell - who each brought a friend to service on the beautiful, November 11 morning. Let's all keep this group in our prayers. They specifically have goals to hire some type of ministry staff in the coming months and connect up as much as possible with events like Teen and Pre-Teen Camp; the New England Christian Conference; Marriage Retreats and more. God is great and He will do it. This influential city in New York has a church rising again to discuss family group breakdowns, one-another partners, Bible studies and a host of faith-filled topics for the glory of our Lord.
