“Mi Reflejo” – Spanish Language Women’s Day in Chicago PDF Print Email

It’s been a few weeks since we had our Spanish women’s day here in Chicago and I wanted to share what God did that day and has been doing since.

Sixty sisters had seventy friends visiting (family, co-workers, neighbors, old friends and people that they met in the streets) and they listened to the Word of God in a powerful class, two sisters shared their testimonies and our worship team did an amazing job with the music and videos. Our sister Tina Crawley did an incredible job singing in Spanish, she has such an amazing voice. Our dance team along with the teens put on a great presentation. The afternoon closed out with a raffle as we gave out twenty baskets that were donated as door prizes… we had a lot of fun!

It was inspiring to hear Maria Chaparro share that she was invited for the first time to last year’s Women’s Day last year, and now she is a disciple of Jesus, sharing her new life to all the visitors. She brought five friends from work and her mother in law.

Another sister, Johanna Rios, shared too for the first time in eighteen years - and her sister was there along with her sister in law.

We were fired up to hear that five women drove five hours from the St. Louis Church (two sisters with their three visitors). Sisters also drove from Milwaukee where they are dreaming to start a Spanish ministry.

We saw God work in so many ways! Dulce Cruz (our guest speaker) had planned to come to Chicago to encourage her family to come back to God. She was amazed when she found out that not only were her mom and sisters there, but her mom brought five friends along with her and a woman that Dulce invited on the bus came as well.

My daughter Angie was so happy to hear that the mom of her good friend from school was there. God is so awesome .

It was also very special to see is all the English speaking sisters that were there to support and to bring their friends - Thank You!

After reading the response cards we found that twenty women said that they wanted to study the Bible, a total of thirty-six women left their phone numbers so we could call them, from those calls two women have already started studying the Bible. It has been so encouraging to hear all the good news about different women starting their Bible studies a total of twelve women have already begun to learn about the word of God several of them are attending church services with their families...so please keep praying for the Spanish ministry in Chicago so we can see a big harvest for the glory of our awesome God! God bless you all.
