Plans Unfold at First International Singles Conference PDF Print Email
by Kevin Chapman - Columbia, SC  -  Thursday, 26 April 2007

The first annual singles conference started over the weekend of March 30- April 1st. The conference was bringing singles from all over the country to talk, develop plans, ideas and events to help build unity in the Singles Ministry around the world. There were about 50 disciples from around the country that came. Although we may be small in numbers the heart and faith of the few we had was inspiring to help bring the singles to a new place in God???s Kingdom.

The major topics for the conference were ...

  • 2008 Singles Conference
  • Networking between Singles Ministries
  • Event Planning and Coordination
  • Singles Disciples Website Development

The whole purpose of the planning conference was to start planning and sharing ideas from each of our Singles Ministries and start to dream the impossible dreams that we need as individuals and as Jesus' church. In Ezekiel 37, the Lord took dry bones and transformed them back to powerful living troops. God will give hope and faith to weak and dried up ministries and make them flourish again. The biggest immediate issues identified to address in the Singles were communication between ministries and unity. Cooperative planning and a dedicated Single Web-site channel will be key means to these ends. Disciples Today has a new forthcoming web platform with a dedicated singles channel. We need to encourage one another that being single can and should be one of the best times in your life!

The whole weekend was a great time of fellowship and great relationships are being built around the Kingdom. This is just the beginning to see what God will do if we just take that leap of faith.
