Saints Still Shining In The Caribbean PDF Print Email

We are encouraged by how God has been moving to encourage and inspire the Caribbean.

Last November, the saints in St. Vincent hosted a spiritual enrichment weekend for the Eastern Caribbean, entitled, "SHINE."  In the Eastern Caribbean, our churches are generally under 100 in membership, and we also fall in that category, with a membership of 21.  That fact didn't hold us back from dreaming big, and the reality of the monumental task before us inspired us to take our faith even higher and serve wholeheartedly.  The conference hosted 60 disciples from six other countries and it was a great success.

Since that time, many of our churches have grown in their devotion to God and the mission.  We are more connected and efforts are being made to strengthen the smaller churches without full-time ministers.

We recently visited the church in Grenada to spend time encouraging the saints and strengthening their faith in God.  We were received with open arms and they welcomed the input in their lives.  At present, there are no full-time ministers in Grenada, but we were very encouraged by the hearts of our brother and sister, Rhett and Kizzy, to fill in the gap.  They haven't been appointed, yet they serve selflessly because of their love for God and the church.

The church has started its recovery, but your prayers are still needed.

The success of "SHINE," was achieved through much hard work, sacrifice, and reliance on God, not forgetting the input and presence of guest speakers, Scott and Dionne Davis of Queens, N.Y. and Brian and Michelle Santos of Orlando, Florida.  Their messages were inspiring, challenging, and heart warming.  We were truly blessed to have them.

God has matured the church here in St. Vincent and we're seeing growth in many areas.

We are very grateful for your prayers and support and we are overjoyed to share that last Saturday we baptized a single mom, Shellina Thomas.  Praise Be to our God!

Please keep us in your prayers, as you are in ours.
