An Indian Teen with Courage PDF Print Email
by Nadine Templer, New Delhi  -  Thursday, 16 April 2009

When Anjali was a small child her mother was a member of the New Delhi church.

Anjali remembers attending children's classes during those years.Unfortunately Anjali's mother abandoned her faith and Anjali was dragged into a very dark world unfit for a young child.Years of abuse of all kinds ensued.By the time Anjali's mother came to her senses and decided to come back to God, a lot of damage had been done.

Anjali was now 14years old and she had experienced things no young girl should ever have gone through. Her mother was restored and Anjali started studying the Bible. It was hard going, as after years of abuse Anjali found it difficult to allow herself to feel. She never smiled or cried. As the months went on she finally accepted the love of Christ and was baptized in May 2007.A few months later her mother suddenly died of an asthma attack in the middle of the night.Anjali was now an orphan.

Her aunt Rosemary who is a strong disciple took her in.Anjali now attends high school and is a committed Christian inspite of the many challenges she has to face. Her life has been filled with pain, yet she is always smiling. She is involved in the ministry. In the past few months she helped her friend Pooja become a Christian and now is helping in studying the Bible with two other teens, who grew up in the church.Of course her life has been very different from theirs, but Anjali does not hold back and faithfully guides them spiritually.

Anjali is now sixteen. She uses her time betwen school and her involvement in the church to sew clothes for a little money so she can give her contribution. She never makes excuses.Life and the difficulties she has faced have made her strong. She is grateful to be a Christian. She is an example of courage and faith to many disciples who are older than her.
