Beachstock V PDF Print Email

A beach retreat tradition continues! It's time for singles and campus ministries to get ready for Beachstock V. Head to Virginia Beach for Memorial Day weekend to find over a 1,000 single disciples enjoying the sand, surf, and sounds of Beachstock. First surf over to www.beachstockva.org to register (hurry, because there's a discount for registering in March). Camp out on the dunes of First Landing State Park - the site of the English settlers' first landing in 1607. This year, both our country and the park will celebrate the 400th anniversary of that first landing which later developed into the Jamestown settlement. As a result, visitors to First Landing State Park will have additional "extracurricular" pursuits available to them in 2007.

We'll be organizing historical tours throughout the weekend. There's also a nearby exhibition of three of the world's most famous documents: The Magna Carta (an original that's 791 years old!), the Emancipation Proclamation (one of Lincoln's originals), and the US Constitution (the first draft with handwritten notes from the convention). Even the Queen of England is coming for a visit in May (but she has not yet accepted our invitation to Beachstock V). See you at the beach!
