Lolith had been in Kuwait a year when she was talking to a friend about life. Her friend had been baptized in the campus ministry in Manila, moved to Kuwait in 2005 for a job and soon found his faith tested. He wandered away from God and righteous living – though every once in a while he would come for service.

Still, when Lolith spoke to him about her desire to know more about God, he knew where to send her. And one morning, he brought her to church. Lolith, a nurse, came to her first service straight from night duty and was so intrigued by the message that she completely forgot she was tired! She wanted more. So the sisters started studying the Bible with her.

She was so impacted by the studies, that like anyone with an open heart, she shared with her friend Gen and the next Friday Gen came to church and started studying the Bible.

Both soon made decisions to make Jesus Lord.

In the meantime, one of the brothers, Michael, received a phone call from a young lady named MaryAnne because she was looking for a church and a mutual friend told her to call Michael as he goes to a church in Kuwait. After visiting and seeing the warmth and friendship among this multicultural bunch of Christians, MaryAnne decided she too wanted to know about this way of life.

A few months later, MaryAnne made Jesus Lord. And who helped her make her decision? Our newly baptized sisters Lolith and Gen!

Please pray for the faith of these young souls. Most disciples work shifts and though Kuwait allows freedom of worship, employers do not consider “church service” a valid reason to change a shift. Many mornings they come from night duty straight to service. Or they leave right after service to go to work. Others have left their families back in the Philippines to come work in Kuwait, so please pray that God will open the doors for them to be reunited with their families.
