Conquering Cancer and Financial Tsunamis PDF Print Email

1n 2008 Kevin and May Lo and their children were chosen as one of the "10 Most Harmonious Families of Hong Kong" by the Hong Kong government largely due to how their faith helped them through the crisis of May's breast cancer. Then Kevin lost his excellent, professional job. Their story was just told in numerous Chinese newspapers.

Their "Health Tsunami" hit the Lo family when May was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2006 and with the support from her faith, family and the church, she chose to face it with a positive view.

Kevin and May did not hide the facts from their kids but told them in detail. The children learned to face difficulties in hard times from their parents' examples. Kevin and May remark how rewarding it is to see the children learn to be caring and considerate.

As the family was recognized as one of the top "10 Harmonious Families of Hong Kong," the Lord had another test for them. In their "Financial Tsunami", May's husband was laid off during her cancer treatment in March of 2008. Their faith did not give over to fear. God blessed Kevin with another great job last Septemeber.

We all have tsunamis in our lives. It seems the whole world is going through a financial tsunami. Let's take heart from the faith of our brother and sister.
