Honduras: 3 Days, 15 Volunteers Bring Hope and Health

Fifteen volunteers came from churches in Boston, Massachusetts, Groton-New London, Conneticut and San Diego, California in an effort spear-headed, organized and led by Walter Kotkowski, HOPE worldwide Vice President, Procurement to travel to Honduras. Our group was comprised of six medical professionals: two pediatricians; Dr. Doug Stein and Dr. Elliot Suarez, three nurses; Barbara Warnock, Jessica McClellan and Ramon Ramos, and a medical technician, Fredie Orellana.

$470,000 Given for Haiti Disaster Relief So Far

Since the devastating earthquakes in Haiti, 69 congregations of the International Churches of Christ have given over $470,000 to HOPE worldwide for Haitian Disaster Relief. Incredibly, the 173 member Phnom Penh Church of Christ in third world Cambodia gave $1,460. The 2,876 member New York City International Church of Christ donated over $100,000. Your donation of $100 supports one person for one month.

Another $530,000 is needed to provide the short, mid and long term relief, retraining and rebuilding. See the HOPE worldwide plan and how to donate at dtoday.tv

South Asian Leadership Conference Held in Mumbai

The 2010 South Asian Leadership Conference for the International Churches of Christ was hosted January 28-30 in Mumbai, the Bollywood city, the city that never sleeps. Around 200 delegates from 3 countries (India, Nepal and Bangladesh) joined the event which was titled He Who Overcomes. It was great to have leaders from US and London as guest speakers.

In His Fullness—West Africa Singles Conference

Under the theme "In His Fullness" the West Africa Singles Conference began last December with the arrival and registration of delegates at the Windy Lodge Hotel in Winneba. Registration was a blur as the exhausted but enthused delegates poured out of their buses and bounded into the waiting area of the hotel. The unmistakable joy of Africans reuniting quickly transformed the hotel’s quiet and sleepy mood into one of ecstatic joy as disciples punctuated the air with colourful greetings and delighted laughter.

Love—The Most Excellent Way: East Africa Singles Retreat

Over 90 single disciples from around East Africa and as far a field as the UK and USA descended on Fish Eagles Inn in Naivasha, Kenya with gusto for their three-day retreat last December. The participants were taken through inspiring and challenging classes on love, relationships and communication.
